The shopping day of the e-commerce giant is underway. Here’s a rundown of offers iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch users might consider.
It’s not Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but Amazon’s in-house Prime Day has now established itself as an important shopping day for the e-commerce giant. During this time there are bargains available from numerous providers using Amazon’s platform – each for between 24 and 48 hours. This year Prime Day will take place from July 12th to 13th. If you are interested in a specific product, you should grab it as quickly as possible so that it is not sold out.
Prerequisites for Prime Day
In contrast to Black Friday or Cyber Monday -Deals, there is a central requirement on Amazon’s Prime Day: anyone who wants to take advantage of the bargains must be a Prime member themselves. With the service, ordered products are delivered with faster “Premium” shipping, you have access to various Amazon services such as Prime Video or Amazon Music and you can use the Prime Reading service with e-books, comics and magazines. Prime costs 70 euros in an annual subscription, if you want to pay monthly, it costs 8 euros.
There is a trick to taking part in Prime Day even if you do not have a Prime membership: you can use the free trial month, that Amazon offers to all interested parties. So if you set a reminder and then cancel in good time before the first fee is due, you won’t pay an extra fee to attend Prime Day. You can sign up for a Prime membership with an existing Amazon account here.
The best bargains for Apple users
Prime Day is usually very varied. This year, Apple users can mainly save on accessories. The Apple Watch Series 7 in aluminum, for example, is one of the few original Apple products that Amazon sells as a prime deal. With 375 euros, Amazon offers its Prime customers a meager 3 percent discount compared to the normal price of 385 euros. Compared to the Apple Store, you save at least 54 euros, because the recommended price is 429 euros. You can get the Apple Pencil 2nd generation from Amazon at a similar price to that from other retailers, while Amazon is significantly cheaper for the 1st generation pen for 85 euros, as our automatic price comparison list shows:
If you don’t mind, to buy goods that have already been used: The Amazon warehouse deals, which are also part of Prime Day this year, also occasionally offer Apple shipping returns at a discounted price.
It’s better to check prices
Important: With each of the offers, you should first take a look at the Heise price comparison, because a reduction at Amazon is no guarantee that other retailers will not have a better offer. This applies in particular to Apple products.
The hardware from Amazon and its subsidiaries is really well reduced. This applies, for example, to the entire product line of the camera and home security specialist Ring. For example, you pay 45 percent less for a set of Ring Alarm 2.0 and Indoor Cam (140 euros in total), and a video doorbell like the Video Doorbell Wired is 35 percent cheaper (70 euros). At Amazon itself you will find Kindles, Echos (including Alexa), Blink products and Fire hardware.
Small things also make a discount
If you decide to expand your HomeKit If you are interested in setups, you will find what you are looking for from various brands. The renowned German-American manufacturer Eve Home has made various reductions. These include smart sockets, room air sensors, light strips and irrigation, with reductions of up to 30 percent. The Chinese smart home specialist Aquara, which has reduced window sensors, is also doing well. The brand new curtain motor with HomeKit integration is also included.
It is also worth taking a look at the accessories from Ugreen, some of which are reduced by up to 20 percent, with power supplies, cables, stands and more. The supplier Belkin, which specializes in Apple peripherals, will also be there. According to the company, it has also reduced the “latest accessories”, which corresponds to discounts of up to 33 percent.
The popular accessories specialist Anker has reduced the price of power supplies, adapters, battery cases, speakers and much more. If you need a new router, you can take a look around the TP Link Brand Store, which now also has cameras and smart home accessories. The smart vacuum cleaners from Roborock have also become cheaper.
